The White Home says it has sought to reassure China after President-elect Donald Trump’s telephone name with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen.
The name final week sparked alarm as the US does not have formal relations with Taiwan, which China views as a breakaway province.
The White Home mentioned officers had assured China of their “Continued dedication to a one-China coverage“.
Mr Trump’s telephone name was adopted by two tweets in which he criticised China’s financial coverage and its operations in the South China Sea.

China’s International Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang mentioned US-China relations had been at all times carried out on a “Win-win” method.
On Tuesday, an opinion piece in the abroad version of China’s Folks’s Every day newspaper mentioned that “Scary disagreements with China will not assist resolve US home issues, will not assist obtain the new Trump administration’s home agenda“.
